About the Dogwood Cardinal Prize for the Arts

The Dogwood Cardinal Prize for the Arts was founded in 2026 by anonymous Richmond based multi-disciplinary artists to create alternative recognition for artistic and creative achievement in the region.

Applications for this highly selective prize are accepted on a rolling basis through our Google Form linked here. Each award winner will be mailed a certificate and featured on the Dogwood Cardinal Prize for the Arts blog and social media accounts. A press release detailing the winner and their work will also be sent to publications in the Greater Richmond Area.

Currently, there is no prize funding for the Dogwood Cardinal Prize for the Arts, we are instead able to uplift artists at all stages of their careers and continue to push the artist community in Richmond to achieve new heights.
